Position Description
The role supports the legal function of the company and other Chinese Mainland entities of the Group, and works closely with internal stakeholders to identify, prevent, and manage legal and compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities (Overview):
- Support the identification, prevention, and control of legal risks arising from daily operations and projects.
- Assist in ensuring that business activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, and help safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the company, the HAECO Group and Swire Group.
- Provide legal support to management and business units in connection with decision-making and project execution.
- Assist in the handling of legal disputes, claims, litigation/arbitration-related matters, and other dispute resolution work.
- Liaise with external counsel and other professional advisors to obtain legal support and support the effective management of external legal resources.
- Promote legal awareness and a strong compliance culture through legal training and communications, supporting the sustainable and healthy development of the company and the HAECO Group
What You'll Do
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate Chinese and English sales, procurement, and other commercially-related contracts.
- Legal Support: Participate in the company's major projects and bidding initiatives, providing legal analysis and opinions as needed.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Contribute to building, maintaining, and overseeing the company's compliance system (covering areas such as anti-monopoly, anti-commercial bribery, intellectual property, export control, trade secret protection, data privacy, and information security).
- Dispute Resolution: Engage in resolving legal disputes and handling insurance cases or similar matters.
- Legal Counseling: Offer legal advice, opinions, and training to business units across the organization.
- External Lawyer Management: Coordinate with external counsel to secure legal support and assist in managing their involvement effectively.
- Group Synergy: Our department serves as a one-stop legal service center for Group entities in Chinese Mainland, collaborating closely with the Group Legal team to jointly mitigate legal risks.
- Group Entity Support: As the Group Legal Chinese Mainland Team, we support the oversight and management of legal matters for all Group entities.
What You'll Need
- A full-time bachelor’s degree or above in Law or a related legal discipline;
- In principle, at least two (2) years of relevant working experience. Exceptionally outstanding fresh graduates may be considered on a case-by-case basis, provided they demonstrate a solid legal foundation, good English proficiency, and substantial relevant internship experience;
- Good command of spoken and written English, with the ability to use English in a professional working environment;
- Passed the National Judicial Examination or the PRC Legal Professional Qualification Examination;
- Strong logical thinking, learning capability, and analytical skills, with the ability to independently identify and resolve issues;
- Good communication and presentation skills, with a strong sense of teamwork.
