Position Description

Reporting to the Head of Department, Safety, Quality and Business Improvement, Global Engine Support, the Safety and Quality Engineer is responsible to support the safety and quality structure for the business, support the Environmental and Business Improvement activities in line with the Group direction, support improvement initiatives across the business, as well as investigate and report on customer complaints and assists in projects to reduce Cost of Non Quality (CONQ) events and associated cost.

What You'll Do

  • Supporting the Head of Department, Safety, Quality and Business Improvement, Global Engine Support, to develop and implement Safety, Quality, and Improvement programs according to the business needs, and ensure full compliance with the latest legislation and Company requirements
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the business level safety plan
  • Conduct an entity wide regular safety audit and site inspection to ensure compliance, support external safety accreditation audits and formulate corrective and preventive actions as appropriate
  • Perform data analysis to identify and quantify the quality and Health and Safety issues within the business and recommend appropriate improvement plans and methods of deployment.
  • Facilitate Hazards Identification and Risk Assessments with internal and external Business Units
  • Support on developing the Business Continuity Plan
  • Conduct investigations of all Level III and higher occurrences and follow up of recommendations.
  • Maintain ownership of the Cost of Non Quality (CONQ) event register, coordinating investigations and follow up actions, provide recommendations on actions to reduce the Cost of Non Quality (CONQ) cost to the business in accordance with budgetary targets.
  • Investigate Customer Complaints
  • Report on all Safety, Quality, and Improvement activities to the Head of Department, Safety, Quality and Business Improvement, Global Engine Support
  • Formulating environmental governance and targets, as well as monitoring, improving, and reporting on the Global Engine Support Group’s environmental performance.

What You'll Need

1. Functional and other Relevant Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Safety, Quality and / or environmental and / or business improvement experience, preferably in aviation industry

2. Qualifications and other Relevant Knowledge

  • Recognised degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering, Safety, or Improvement subject
  • Operational experience in an engine maintenance environment is an advantage
  • Able to travel to Global Engine Support facilities around the world
  • Knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) standards and National Aviation Authorities (NAA) requirements
  • Able to effectively communicate across multiple cultures.
  • Knowledge of investigation tools e.g. Fishbones, 5 whys, etc..
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, Chinese an advantage.
