Position Description
Reporting to HOS(SST), the SST inspector will take up the duties of QC functions to carry out product and people safety surveillance in LM and BM. SST inspector is a member of the Quality Department.
What You'll Do
- Plan and conduct safety and quality surveillances according to the established programme.
- Conduct internal audits and surveillance at operation areas.
- Provide on-site briefings to frontline staff on latest safety policy and requirements.
- Provide immediate actions to mitigate the risk whenever any discrepancy is noted.
- Communicate with internal departments on safety and quality assurance finding.
- Negotiate corrective actions and follow up with accountable parties.
- Provide daily audit report to accountable departments.
- Coaching of seconded staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the required task for SST activities.
- Assist with the implementation of safety and improvement project.
What You'll Need
1. Job Requirements & Competencies
- Knowledge of Part-145 and any other relevant regulations.
- Knowledge and application of procedures of maintenance organisation.
- Knowledge and application of auditing skills (e.g. questioning skills, judgement of compliance vs. non-compliance, handling of conflicts, etc.).
- Knowledge of safety management, human factors, human performance and limitations, and just culture.
- Understanding of conditions for ensuring continuing airworthiness of aircraft and components.
- Ability to consider human performance and limitations.
- Ability to determine the required qualifications for task performance.
- Ability to identify and rectify existing and potential unsafe conditions.
- Ability to confirm proper accomplishment of maintenance tasks.
- Ability to understand work orders, work cards and refer to and use applicable maintenance data.
- Adequate communication and literacy skills.
2. Qualification & Experience
- Holding a valid HKAR-66 Category B1.1/B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence with type ratings and authorization on one or more of the Aircraft/Engine types within the company’s approved scope of work.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in all aspects of aircraft maintenance including servicing, inspections, defect troubleshooting, repair and rectification, and maintenance certification.
- AS9100 or ISO9001 Lead auditor training, or acceptable auditor training (desirable).
- Aviation accident/incidence investigation training, or maintenance error investigation training (desirable).
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess positive attitude and correct mind set.
- Willingness to attend shift work as assigned to meet operational requirements.
