Position Description

The Group Environmental Sustainable Development is a strategic imperative for our business. The HAECO Group Sustainable Development Team advises senior management of key developments and emerging risks related to sustainable development (SD). It is responsible for setting environmental policies and targets, monitoring the implementation of our group SD strategy, our SD policies, and communication on SD matters.

The Group Environmental Manager – Data & Reporting, as part of the Group Sustainable Development Team, is responsible for improving the HAECO Group’s environmental data and reporting performance to help achieve the near-term and long-term environmental targets. This role requires supporting the HAECO Group Environmental Programme by providing single-source of truth via consolidating cross-entity SD data to produce high quality SD-related reports and enhance the SD data management process. Provides subject matter expertise on environmental data & reporting best practices and aligns priorities and resources with entities to implement key improvement initiatives. Leads and implements cross-entity environmental performance data and reporting improvement and standardisation initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Head of Sustainable Development in strategic planning and development
  • Support the development of Group-wide strategic and impactful projects towards the 2030 SD targets and 2050 goals
  • Work closely with HAECO Group entities and Swire Pacific Group on the execution of SwireTHRIVE strategy
  • Create an environment for entities to share experience, cross-learn and adopt environmental initiatives 
  • Assist in the development of Group SD strategies, initiatives, targets and key performance indicators
  • Lead the monitoring, reporting and auditing of SD data, targets and performance
  • Manage the use of sustainability data platform, monitor and improve data quality 
  • Work with Swire Pacific Group to ensure projects and initiatives align with the 2050 goals of Net Zero carbon emissions, Water Neutrality and Zero Waste to Landfill
  • Drive the HAECO Group Environmental Programme by supporting entities in establishing project scopes / design / plans, success criteria, operational and procurement requirements and formulating recommendations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

1. Functional and other Relevant Experience 

  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental and sustainability within an industrial organisation and/or environmental consulting 
  • Working knowledge of environmental and sustainability best practices, and reporting standards including Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Strong ability to manage, understand and analyse complex data, develop insights and actions

 

2. Qualifications and other Relevant Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Environmental Management / Engineering, Sustainability, or related discipline 
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative, analytical and project management skills, strategic thinking; able to operate effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Well-organised, proactive, attention to details, tactful and ability to work as part of a team and independently with limited guidance/supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
